Position Overview

As an Equipment Finance Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal advice to clients on a wide range of equipment finance matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of high-profile aircraft finance transactions, collaborating with an impressive roster of clients. These clients span the aviation industry spectrum, including prominent airlines, export credit agencies, operating lessors, asset managers, investment funds, finance companies, and aircraft manufacturers.

The role involves participating in complex financial deals, such as:

  • Large-scale mergers and acquisitions in the aviation sector
  • Structuring and execution of aircraft-related asset-backed securities
  • Portfolio debt financings for multiple aircraft
  • Capital market transactions for structured multi-aircraft financings
  • Sale and leaseback arrangements
  • Individual aircraft sales
  • Negotiation of maintenance, repair, and overhaul agreements

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on equipment finance transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate finance documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and leases
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential transactions, assessing risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues and other professionals to provide comprehensive legal advice
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Support and mentor junior associates, delegating tasks effectively

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York Bar
  • Strong understanding of legal documentation related to asset finance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
