Our client, a global law firm recognized for its bold, exceptional, collaborative, and supportive culture, is seeking a Life Sciences Associate to join their Corporate group in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney to work on strategic licensing and transactional agreements with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Position Overview

As a Life Sciences Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's Corporate group, focusing on transactional work in the life sciences sector. You will work closely with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, drafting and negotiating strategic licensing and transactional agreements. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of deals and the growth of the firm's life sciences practice.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate license agreements, collaboration agreements, and supply agreements in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device space
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients throughout the transaction process
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including attorneys, business development professionals, and scientific experts
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate transactional experience, preferably with direct and applicable experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, good business judgment, and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in legal research and problem-solving
